Where We Dream To Travel Next Year: Women Traveling Podcast

But there are other things in Copenhagen that I want to see too. Would love to go to Juno the Bakery for some pastries, Villa Copenhagen was on our Hot List 2021. It is in the old Danish Post Headquarters and was built in 1912 and has been beautifully restored. But all the rooms, instead of having that 1912 design, are very quiet, very Scandinavian, very minimalist, so beautiful. I want to put my cycling skills to the test and try cycling around Copenhagen, but they also just opened a new metro system in 2019. So if I can’t do it with Danish bikers, I can browse other ways. I have already done the thing where I just did a google map of all the places I want to go in Copenhagen which I think is a pretty good sign that I will make it work and find a flight there at one point. year. So this is my last choice.

THE: I was going to say, all I wanna do is shop in Copenhagen just for fashion. I come-

MC: I feel like I’ve bought things over the past year and a half to keep me going until the office reopens and we really go back to going out for fancy dinners and now we’re here and I’m say, oh no, I don’t have the clothes.

THE: I need new things.

MC: Yes. So obviously I have to fly to Copenhagen to do some shopping.

THE: I think this is the only reasonable solution.

MC: Sure. OK. Sarah, what’s your last place?

SK: One place I really want to go is this island called Socotra off the coast of Yemen. It’s in Yemen, but it’s operated or somewhat controlled by the UAE or they have connections and so there is direct fighting from there. And I don’t know if you’ve heard of it or seen it on social media, but it looks absolutely stunning. It’s kind of like I just had this remote Galapagos vibe, these really unique tree landscapes and the coastline is beautiful and it’s absolutely beautiful, and you can take those trips there. There are not many tour operators who work with the locals and do weeklong trips, but the point is, it is a week entirely off-grid. So I’m not sure if I can justify this now with my workload, but it would be something I would like to do.

THE: I have heard of this island. It looks amazing and fascinating, and I really hope you make it happen. Because I want to hear all about it and live vicariously through you.

SK: You will see all of this on Instagram every time I pick up the service.

MC: Lale, what’s your last choice?

THE: The last choice is still a little personal is that I have a very close family in Scotland, the Highlands, that I haven’t seen since 2018 and I miss them a lot and I am desperate to see them. So I would love to go up there and in doing that I want to take the Caledonian Sleeper, which I have already made, which you get from London. And it’s the night train that takes you to Inverness. And one of my favorite things about it is that there’s someone knocking on your door at 5:00 a.m. to deliver you a bacon sandwich, which I just think is the best thing anyone can do. could do for you if you are sleeping on a night train, being right outside and hiking and being in the beautiful scenery. What if I can, what if I go over there in the summer to go to Skye and tour the islands there, which is just, I think, some of the most amazing scenery in the world, and that is so peaceful there. And in the depths of containment, I thought about Skye and my family a lot, so I’d love to get back to it.

MC: Oh, well, thank you both for sharing all your ideas on where you want to go. We’ll have links to a whole bunch of stuff including most of the hotels we’ve mentioned where Airbnb I’m dying to go to, they’ll all be in the ratings on the show, so make sure you get them to verify. If people want to follow you next year and see what you’re doing Sarah, where can they find you on the internet?

SK: I follow @bysarahkhan wherever social networks exist, on Twitter, Instagram, etc.

MC: I am @ohheytheremere.

THE: And I am @lalehannah.

MC: As a reminder, this is our last episode of the year, so be sure to subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts so you will be alerted when we come back in Spring 2022. We hope you’ve traveled a long way by the time we will be coming back and i have plenty to say. Thank you very much for listening throughout this year and we’ll get back to you later.
