Assumption University alumni and students recently joined leaders in the tourism industry for the SKAL International Bangkok Networking Evening at the legendary Sukhothai Hotel, Bangkok.

Bangkok, Thailand – “What was your ID number?” » was a popular question among AU students and alumni during the recent SKAL International Bangkok Networking Night, as a student ID number gives insight into their graduation date. Many more senior alumni said with a laugh, “I’m not telling you my ID number!”.

dr. Scott Smith, from the Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) Department of MSME Business School at Assumption University, was delighted to see students, past and present, including Ms. Auranat Saenghiran. Ms. Auranat attended the event as a representative of the company she recently joined, Move Ahead Media.

The best and brightest of Dr. at Scott HTM students were quick to confirm their attendance and were eager to network with leaders in today’s tourism industry. Mr. Nanda Aung Si (Nanda) said: “I am happy to have the chance to focus on my professional development in addition to the educational development received at university. face to face with the leaders of Thailand’s tourism industry.”

Mr. Chanon Juengcharoenpoon (Kim) took this opportunity to look for a future internship and, with his CV in hand, was able to receive valuable feedback as longtime Skalleague Tom Sorensen, Thailand’s most recognized headhunter and managing partner at Tom Sorensen Recruitment (Thailand), generously took the time to advise Khun Chanon and offer advice on how to improve your resume to land your dream job. “SKAL Networking Night was a great night, a mix of experiences and new beginnings, old and new friendships,” said HTM student Mubtasim Sirhan (Sebastian).

“The venue was fantastic, the food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the event exceeded all expectations.”, dr. Scott said with gratitude to Alexander Schillinger, GM, who generously offered a reduced rate so that students could attend this event at the iconic Sukhothai Hotel (sukhothai.com) Bangkok, 4th hotel among all Asian cities and 37th hotel in the world, as well as the Top 10 Hotels in Bangkok Readers’ Choice Awards 2020 from Conde Nast Traveler, USA (October 2020).
