The day after John Puffin attended his good friend’s wedding, he received a text from the bride saying she saw he grabbed an extra slice of cake and owed her around $ 5.

The post was posted to Reddit’s r / weddingshaming forum on September 29 and has already garnered over 8,600 votes and has also been shared on the r / bridezillas subreddit. “I paid the first installment after it was announced the day we would help pay for their cake !! Apparently that didn’t count for the second,” the post read.

In the screenshot of the text messages, the bride sent CCTV footage showing Puffin grabbing an extra slice of cake at the wedding. Confused, he replied “dunno what do you mean.” Quickly, the bride replied that she and her husband were looking at the CCTV footage and saw that he had two pieces of the wedding cake.

“We announced that each guest must pay in installments and noticed that you only paid for one,” the text continues. “Can you please send the £ 3.66 as soon as possible.”

Puffin says News week on Reddit that her good friend’s wedding took place last month in a small town in Kent, UK.

“It was a really cool place and they had a nice quiche for the start followed by river-caught trout for the main course,” he said. News week. “The cake was delicious but I never thought something so sweet could leave it tasting so sour.”

Puffin said he received the text from his friend’s wife after they returned from their honeymoon. He said the CCTV and cost review was “apparently on their to-do list.”

“I sent the couple an inbox because I think it’s ridiculous that I’m paying a slice for the wedding cake,” Puffin said. News week. He said the wife “responded quite sharply” and told him they needed the money. He also claimed that she told him that “being frugal is an ugly and ugly trait in a man.”

More than 790 people commented on the bride’s behavior in the comments section below the post, calling her “cheesy” and “rude” for charging guests in installments.

One user wrote that “loading the peer slice is also cheesy, but sending an actual video stream is a whole new level of crazy!”

“Tell them to take you to small claims court,” one user joked.

“I love spending my precious first few days as a newlywed reviewing CCTV to see which of my loved ones I can shake for £ 3.66,” another joked in the comments.

Earlier this month, News week related the story of a bride who criticized her guests in a Facebook group for not being able to afford $ 3,000 plane tickets to her wedding.

“At the risk of sounding titled… I have to let off steam today,” the woman wrote in the post. “When we invited our friends and family to our destination wedding in Thailand, only 9 people responded. Out of 150 !! Okay, I get it, paying $ 3,000 to share my special day is too much for some of them. between you, I pay for yours, but whatever. “

Her original post was captured and posted on Reddit. The post received hundreds of comments from people agreeing the woman lacked self-awareness.

“My whole wedding cost less than what she wanted people to spend to see her,” commented another.
