Cash-strapped Barcelona offering famous Camp Nou ground as wedding venue
You can Nou kiss the bride!
Barcelona are so in need of money that they are renting the Camp Nou pitch as their wedding venue this summer. Imagine: corrugated iron, thousands of empty seats and instead of “congratulations”, the words “Mes Que Un Club”. Every girl’s dream, right?
Apparently yes, because thousands of couples have already registered to get married there. (Anyone else getting Don’t Tell the Bride vibes?). The La Liga club even offer a range of different packages to suit different budgets, with the cheapest option – in the stadium’s Foundation Lounge, seating around 25-50 people – costing €1,600 (£1,367).
At the other end of the spectrum, fans can choose the ‘Grandstand Hall’ package, which costs €13,500 (£11,540) and offers customers several stunning views of the pitch, seating between 300 and 1,000 people.
Another attractive alternative is the ‘Camp Nou Terrace’ package, which costs between €6,000 (£5,130) and €7,000 (£5,980) depending on attendance and allows guests to really soak up the views of the one of the most impressive football stadiums in the world.

With the added aim of making money, the club are also offering fans the chance to play a game at the Camp Nou ground this month, priced at €300 (£255) per player.
Barcelona have been mired in financial peril for some years now amid reports that they are up to £1billion in debt, corporate neglect and seasons of horrendous mismanagement in the transfer market effectively putting the knee club.
They tried to cut costs in every way possible in order to balance the books and last summer were forced to let Lionel Messi go. They have also sold the naming rights to their stadium, which will be known as Spotify Camp Nou from next season.
At least the wedding playlists will be decent!
